Free Online Moving Estimates
Moving day is very challenging, and you'd think that going online and filling out a moving quote form to get estimates from multiple moving companies is a good idea, right?... Well, if you'd like to get about 30 to 50 calls that same day, and have your email address full of meaningless non-binding quotes that have misleading information designed to make you fall for a bait-and-switch tactic, then go for it. Good luck sorting out the results, too.
It can be quite a nightmare to figure out how to stop the harassing calls, and emails, as well as to sort out the credible movers from the bad movers. If you're looking for a better way to do it, get online and find at least 3 moving companies that you'd like to get a quote from. Fill out their form, and check them out on the BBB, AMSA, and the DOT.
Don't waste your time swimming with sharks by filling out a request for an estimate from a "moving leads" company that sells the leads to movers in your area, becuase (a) you won't get the best movers (b) you'll be harassed until you change your phone and email, and (c) you'll have a terrible time figuring out what your actual moving costs really are, because the quotes will be all over the place. You'll get professional movers giving you normal market rates, and then you'll get bad movers giving you rock bottom (totally unrealistic) rates that are designed to get you to sign on the dotted line, and then lose your shirt when they ratchet up your moving price to three times or more of the price you actually ought to pay.
So, do yourself and your family a favor, and take a few mintues to submit 3 quote requests through credible movers' web sites, and don't forget to check them out on the BBB. Paying a cheap moving price for bad moving services is like paying a cheap lawyer to defend you on a criminal case. You get what you pay for, and 99% of the time you lose everthing. With bad movers you stand to lose thousands of dollars even though you think you're saving money. Be smart, prepare yourself, invest in due diligence, and ask good questions. Don't fall prey to the oldest bait-and-switch tricksters on the block.
